Congratulations to our Eco team for attaining the much coveted EcoSchools Gold standard.  Great work all year round by Ms. Grigsby, Ms. Gesner and all of the team in helping Winona become more aware of all the things we could do for our school, our community and our planet.  A job well done!

We’re happy to announce that students are busy gaining pledges for this year’s Duathlon on Friday June 22nd.

Please take a look at the sponsor form below, and please help our kids get as many pledges as possible.

Dear Sponsors,

I am participating in the second annual duathlon and will run and swim 1 kilometer.  I need your help to raise money for the Me to We foundation to donate medical supplies to people living in Sierra Leone.  Our school goal is to raise $500 towards this amazing charity.  All participants who fundraise $10 or more will receive a reusable water bottle with the Winona Wings logo on it.

A long-standing tradition at Winona has been the end of the year trip for grade 8 students to Camp Arrowhon.  Students arrived safely on Monday afternoon into the thick of Algonquin Park and are now enjoying learning in an outdoor setting.  Mr. Wozniak one of our teaching staff was kind enough to send some photos of the students in action.

Not too long ago Mr. Rowinsky Ms. Behrakis and volunteer teacher Ms. Tat began the complicated work of organizing a science exposition. All grade 8 Winona students participated in what became the science highlight for so many of our budding scientists. Congratulations to every single Winona scientist for a job well-done!
